GLENFIELD- Lark John Merry, 68, of DeForest Ave., Glenfield died Tuesday evening, May 20, 2014 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Beaches Bridge Cemetery, with Rev. Joan Ripp, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057; or to the Marine Corps League Det. #754, 7429 NYS Rte. 12, Lowville, NY 13367.

He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Joyce; two children and their spouses, Holly and Ray Falk of Beaver Falls; Wendy and David Grau of Greig; nine siblings, Ceylon Merry of Lowville; Guy Merry of the Town of Leyden; Rosetta and Carlton “Sonny” David of Black River; Franklin and Christine Merry of Lowville; Christopher and Mary Merry of Turin; Yvonne Merry of Montague; Juanita and Tony Young of Montague; Robin and Brian Porter of Sackets Harbor; Hope and Pat Breen of Boonville; five grandchildren, Antonio, Chelsie, Rebecka, Joshua and Tyler; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a sister, Rebecca Rohr.

Lark was born on December 4, 1945 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Guy Sr. and Noreen Williams Merry. He attended Lowville Academy, and enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving during the Vietnam War, from October, 1965 – October, 1969, receiving a National Defense Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Vietnam Campaign Metal and a Good Conduct Metal. On July 1, 1972, he married Joyce A. Clearo at the home of his aunt. Mr. Merry worked for Payne Jones, later named Pajco. He retired from Fibermark in Lowville in 2007 after 38 years of service.

Lark was a past member of Marine Corps League Det. #754. He enjoyed carpentry and hunting.
