Boonville – On the evening of September 22, 2023, Diane T. Ernst, 80, of Boonville, NY passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side.
Diane was born on December 29, 1942 in Utica, NY to Frank and Sadie Wnuk Dudek. She grew up in Whitesboro and on October 12, 1963 Diane was married to the love of her life, Gerald R. Ernst. They were soon blessed with three children, Kevin, Tracy and Kari.
In 1970 Diane and Jerry moved to Boonville. She soon became known to many in the community while being employed by Daffy Discount, Hess Pharmacy, Sanford Pharmacy and Boonville Senior Nutrition. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Church. Diane was a woman of grace and great beauty. She was a kind and caring person to all she knew.
Diane is survived by her three children, son, Kevin (Amy) Ernst; daughters, Tracy (Kris) Sprowell, and Kari (Ron) Kirk; 7 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy; 3 bonus grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren who Diane (Bacie) absolutely adored and a sister-in-law, Margaret Lendzian. Diane was predeceased in death by her husband, Gerald Ernst, sister, Frances Kelsey, brothers, Johnny, Junior, Stanley, Dicky and Billy Dudek and a great granddaughter, Evana Ruth Ernst.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 2, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Hope/St. Joseph's Church, Boonville followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
