Port Leyden- Edward A. Moore Sr., 78, passed away on June 2, 2023 at the Abraham House, Rome.

He was born on February 5, 1945 in Lyonsdale, a son of James and Ida Clemons Moore. He Attended Port Leyden School and spent his summers working on the river with his father and hauling logs. Edward was a truck driver for many years having been employed by various trucking companies. He also owned and operated his own truck until retiring. Ed drove bus for Lewis County Office for people with development disabilities, and was a senior companion.

He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing.

Surviving are his children, Edward Moore Jr. {Miriam Doud}, Forestport, Kenny Seaton {Helen}, Camden, Dennis Seaton, Boonville, Wesley Seaton, Camden,  Julie Seymour, Camden, Cindy and Ed Wing, Camden; 2 grandchildren, Ethan and Allyssia Moore; a brother, James Moore, Port Leyden; sisters, Mary Lanz, Maude Emerson, Boonville and Darlene and Ted Mooney, Port Leyden. He was predeceased by his companion, Nancy Lucas, and sisters, Crystal Moore and Geraline Jones.

His funeral will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 10 am at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St. Boonville. Relatives and friends may call from 9- 10 am prior to the funeral. Interment Brantingham Cemetery. For an online message of sympathy please go to www.millsfuneralhomes.com.
