Gisele Marie Mathis-Zelazowski
Boonville - Gisele Marie Mathis-Zelazowski, 64, passed peacefully on Wednesday September 20, 2023. She was surrounded by her family and was blessed with a last visit by her dog Oliver (Ollie).
GiGi was born in Rome New York on January 13, 1959 and is the second of five daughters from the late James and Mary Rita Mathis. She attended West Leyden and Adirondack schools where she later graduated. She later attended MVCC and graduated as a Dental Hygienist.
While growing up GiGi enjoyed countless hours of working on the family farm, canning with her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins, swimming in the back pond and of course camping.
While supporting her growing family, Gisele enjoyed crafting, gardening, bird raising and watching along with a new found love of wood working. From there she went on to become a well-respected Carpenters' Apprentice.
Gisele is survived by her five children, Jamie Healt, Jessica Scott (Healt), Richard Zelazowski, ShaeLynn Rowland (Zelazowski) and Bryan Zelazowski. In addition to her children she was also blessed with six grandchildren of which she adored and was always excited for their company. She is also survived by four sisters, Audrey Mathis, Yvonne Jerome (Mathis), Michele Dale (Mathis) and Tabitha Mathis; a number of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her precious God Mother "Aunt Sosie".
The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the "Abraham House of Rome" for the comfort and care that was provided to her and the family during her stay.
