Constableville- Jerome Anthony Kraeger, 60, of West Street, Constableville, NY passed away on Sunday, August 13th, 2023.
Jerome, affectionately known as Jerry, was born and raised in Constableville. Jerry attended South Lewis Jr-Sr High School, Turin, NY graduating in the Class of 1981. September 15th, 1984 he was united in marriage to Kathleen “Kate” Donahue at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Paschal Ryes officiating. Their marriage lasted 38 years until the time of Jerry’s passing. Together they dedicated their lives to each other and their children. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, playing cards, chess, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his grandchildren, and rebuilding small engines. Jerry was a correctional officer with the New York State Department of Corrections for 27 years until his retirement in 2010.
In addition to his wife Kate and canine companion Duke, Jerry is survived by his parents, Albert and Mary Kraeger, a son Mike (Gretchen) Kraeger, Lyons Falls, a daughter Sarah (Mike) Metott, Glenfield, six grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Doug) Markham, West Leyden, Mary (Steve) Wilton, Constableville, Joanne (Chad) Sherwood, Belchertown MA, Beth (Bill) Lamanna, Constableville, and John (Debora) Kraeger, Stanley NY; bother-in-law Tom (Colleen) Donahue, Holland Patent; Sisters-in-law: Maureen (Dan) O’Brien, Boonville, Rita (Pat) Tierney, Marcellus NY, Peggy (Kent) Wooten, Edgewater, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation hours from 3-6 P.M., on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the “Shawn O’Brien Memorial Scholarship Fund” to 4792 State Route 12, Glenfield, NY 13343.
