Joyce P. Frizzell

Boonville- Joyce P. (Spann) Frizzell, 62, of Kerwin Road, wife of George, Jr., passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 3, 2020, at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville.  


Joyce was born in Lowville, on August 3, 1958, a daughter of Dennis and Joanne Remington Spann.  She grew up on West Road, near Martinsburg and graduated from Lowville Academy & Central School, with the Class of 1976.  


On September 9, 1978, Joyce married George L. Frizzell, Jr., in the Town of Martinsburg.  For the past 20 years they lived on the Kerwin Road.  Mrs. Frizzell was employed for over 15 years as a machinist at Otis Technology of Lyons Falls and for many years she greatly enjoyed assisting her husband in the operation of Bills Carnival Show.  


Joyce greatly enjoyed knitting blankets for her loved ones, especially for newly born infants in her family, reading and she was an accomplished automobile mechanic who loved working and fixing cars.  


In addition to her husband, George, Joyce is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth J. Ward, Lowville, Pamela Smith, West Leyden; one son, Nicholas Frizzell, Castorland; grandchildren, Garrett and Phoebe, Savanna, Kayden, Devin, Wynter and Nicholas; three sisters, Diane (Robert) Wright, Lowville, Barbara (Rod) Turck, Groton, NY, Geraldine (Danny) Ritz, Lowville; one brother, Dennis Morrison (Brenda Manor), Castorland.    In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by a sister, Lesley Spann and by a granddaughter, Evelyn Hutchins.  


Services will be private for immediate family on Saturday, January 12, at 2:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.  Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Department Ambulance Fund, PO Box 164, Boonville, NY 13309.
