Keith Douglas Countryman Sr. 91 years old — a long time resident of Remsen, NY passed away Wednesday February 9, 2022 in the state of North Carolina.  He was a class of 1948 Remsen Central School graduate. Keith enlisted in The United States Navy, with a combined active duty and reserve time of 8 years served. He then worked in the construction, surveying and abstract field for 40 years and retired in 1994. Keith was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and gardener. He also enjoyed reading books and making model planes. One of Keith’s favorite pastimes was researching family history and genealogy.


Surviving are his 6 children; Karen Countryman, Cheryl Kabot, Keith Countryman Jr., Lorrie (Harry) Smalls, Brian (Kelly) Countryman, Christine Countryman (Joe Bessmer). 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. 



Calling hours will be held on May 20th from 10am-12pm at Trainor Funeral Home Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where a funeral service will commence at 12pm. Interment will follow in Fairchild Cemetery Remsen, with Military Rites from Charles J. Love Post 406, American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. and The Tun Tavern Marine Corps League, all of Boonville, will provide Military Honors.
