Marilyn Diane (Kafka) Huebner

Port Leyden- Marilyn Diane (Kafka) Huebner, 67, of West Main St., wife of Joseph and a former resident of State Rt. 26, Turin, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Up State Medical Center, Syracuse.


Marilyn was born in Constableville, on December 6, 1953, a daughter of Frank and Anna Monach Kafka.  She grew up in Locust Grove and in Boonville, where she completed her education through 12th grade at Adirondack Central School.  


On February 16, 1973, Marilyn was united in marriage with Joseph W. Huebner, in Old Forge, NY.  Thereafter the couple lived in the Boonville area, before relocating to Sanford Florida, in 1989, where they resided until 2011, when they moved to Turin, NY, where they resided until moving to Port Leyden, in 2019, making their home with their daughter, Corinna and son in law, Matthew Preston.  


Later Mrs. Huebner continued her education earning her Certified Nurse Assistant Degree.  Thereafter she was employed in that capacity at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville and also for many years at Island Lake Skilled Nursing Facility, Longwood, Florida.  


Marilyn especially enjoyed her role of mother, grandmother and great grandmother, attending her grandchildren’s school related events. 


In addition to her husband, Joe, Marilyn is survived by their children; William Huebner and daughter in law, Kim Shackleford, JoAnne (Carl) Stevens, J.W.(Christi) Huebner, Corinna (Matthew) Preston, Stephen (Ashley) Huebner, and Anton Huebner; grandchildren, Suzanna, J.J., Brittany, Summer, Pauly, Hailey, Caleb, Marilyn, Anthony, Zachary, Cody, Isabella, Calvin; her great grandchildren, Brantley, Theo, Braxton, Pierce, Dustin, Brannon, Mileena and Quintin and one sister, Cheryl Kafka and was predeceased by thirteen brothers and sisters. 


Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4-6 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with no further services to follow.
