Affectionately known as Mike, he was born in Rome, on September 25, 1959, a son of the late Ralph E. and Irene Goodhines DeVoe.  Mike grew up on his family’s farm on West Leyden Road, near Boonville and graduated from Adirondack Central School, with the Class of 1977.  For several years thereafter he was employed in the operation of the DeVoe farm.  Later for many years, Mike was employed as a machine operator at Ethan Allen Furniture Company, Boonville.  After Ethan Allen closed its Boonville plant, Mike was employed at Empire Air of Rome, as an airplane painter.  He last employment was at the NAPA Store of Boonville.

Mike greatly enjoyed hot rods and attending car shows.  He was an avid snowmobiler and loved a good poker run.  One of his greatest joys was being pit crew for any vintage racing team, especially for his sons and nephew Nathan. In recent years he has devoted his racing expertise to his nephew Gabe and Willy D’s Racing. He greatly enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.  Mike always loved to tell a good story and was never at a loss of them.

A special thanks to his niece Mackenzie for all of her help in recent years.  Mike is also survived by his bonus children, Adam Hance, Josh Kent and Brett Czepiel.  He is predeceased by his brother Peter DeVoe as well as his parents.
