Boonville: Patricia (Litz) Niznik, the matriarch of the family, passed away on Thursday, August 26,2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 20, 1935 in Ellisburg, NY, she was the youngest of thirteen children of Bert and Edith Litz.

 

In her youth, Mom attended primary schools in the north country and high school in Whitesboro. On December 27, 1952, she married the love of her life, John Joseph (Pete) Niznik. Together, they would raise their children in Frankfort. Raising her family was quite an adventure.

 

Mom never missed a school event. She spent many days going to school concerts and sporting events, particularly watching her sons wrestle. Mom was known to most people as Mom Niznik. After Pete's passing on August 12, 1994, she moved to Boonville with her son Edward in1997.

 

She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Dr. John (Citlali) Niznik, Ronald Niznik, Patrick Niznik, Timothy, Niznik, Daniel Niznik, Edward Niznik Andrew Niznik and daughter Mary Niznik .  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. 

 

Besides her husband Pete, she was predeceased by her very special grandson John Peter Niznik, Jr, her parents Bert and Edith and her twelve siblings: Verna Marti, Arletha Rokes, Viola Bennet, Mabel Bolen, Annabelle Rusaw, Edith Morrison, Clara Litz, Freida Palmer, Dora Sherwood, and her three brothers, Albert, Robert and Roger.  

 

A prayer service will be on Monday, at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Our Hope Parish, St. Joseph’s church, Charles St. Boonville, with Rev. Mathew Rawson, as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr Cemetery, Whitestown.  Calling hours are Sunday 12 Noon – 3:00 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, C/O St. Jude’s Tribute Program, P.O. box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101, or to The Disabled American Veterans; please make your check payable to Disabled American Veterans Charity and send to P.O. box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301.
