Published on July 25, 2022

Boonville- Paula Anne Bailey, 76, a resident of Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, left her life here on Earth on Thursday, July 21, 2022 with her loving Husband Tom of 55 years by her side, to be welcomed by the Saints of God to her Eternal Home in Heaven where she will spend Eternity in the Presence of Our Lord and Savior Jesus, who she so faithfully served here on Earth.

Paula was born on July 1, 1946 in Utica, NY to her parents Bernard and MaryEllen Hansen. She graduated from Francis DeSales School and went onto MVCC for nursing.  During her life she worked at General Electric in Utica, Water Safari, Bernie Bus and for many years was a substitute teacher in the Adirondack, Remsen and South Lewis School Districts.

Paula began a career in Music as a young lady with another friend, Ann Clark, as a Duet, calling themselves “The Honey Tones.”  They often appeared live on WBRV on Saturday afternoons on the Kenny Youngs Program and occasionally at The Last Chance Dance Hall.  After Ann’s passing, Paula moved on becoming a Duet with a musician named Kenny Ackins.

On October 28, 1967 Paula married the love of her life, Thomas C. Bailey from Port Leyden, NY at St. Agnes Church, Utica, NY.  Paula and husband Tom began their own music group tougher with their friends, the late Richard Webster and the late Joe Muller called, “Paula and The Rambladares.”  This was the beginning of an adventure in music that would last 50 years.  Many doors opened for them in Churches and events, playing on Worship Teams and leading Worship.  They played in Coffee Houses across Central New York ministering the Love of Jesus to many.  Many lives were touched and changed as they let the love of Jesus flow through them and their music.  Truly a LIFE well LIVED and well SERVED!

Mrs. Bailey is survived by her husband Tom, son Michael of Florida, daughter Shelly Bailey Tibbits and granddaughter, Ivy Tibbits of Nantucket, Mass and a brother, Chris (Sharon) Hanson of Floyd, NY and various cousins.  She is pre-deceased by her son John J. Bailey and her parents.

There will be no calling hours.  A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the Abundant Life Church on Rt. 12 South, Boonville at 11:00 am.  Officiating will be Pastor Dan Talbot and Pastor Wayne Clements from Center Point Christian Fellowship in Mapledale.
