Boonville and Rockingham NC- Peter Clark O’Connor, 89, husband of the late Marion, a former a resident of Valley View Drive, Boonville, and more recently of Rockingham, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at Richmond County Hospice Haven, of Rockingham, NC.
Mr. O’Connor, was a native of Staten Island and after graduating from high school, Peter served his country for four years in the US Navy, as an engineer, during the Korean Conflict.
Later he was employed at Nabisco for 32 years and on October 13, 1957, Peter was united with the love of his life, Marion Lupica, in Jamaica, NY. After retiring the O’Connor’s resided in Copake, NY, before moving to Boonville, where they resided for several years, until making their home in Rockingham. Mrs. O’Connor passed away on March 20, 2007.
Peter is survived by his son in law, Peter Webster, granddaughter, Nicole (John) Sturtevant; grandsons, Peter Connolly, Patrick Webster, Chris Webster and great grandchildren, nieces and a nephew. In addition to his wife, Marion, Peter was predeceased by his daughter, Jackie Webster, a grandson Kevin Webster and a sister, Jacqueline Hovland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Woodgate Cemetery, where Rev. Matthew Lyons, of Christ our Hope Parish, Boonville, will officiate and where members of Charles J. Love Post 406, American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. and The Tun Tavern Marine Corps League, all of Boonville, will provide Military Rites. Peter’s funeral arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Boonville.
