Boonville -Rodney J. Bourgeois “Popz”, 61, passed away at home on
February 24, 2021 after a brief illness.
He was born on November 5, 1959 in Constableville a son of Jim and Doris
DeMuth Bourgeois. He grew up in Boonville, working at his family’s
Esso gas station. He graduated from Adirondack Central School with an
Electrical certification in 1978. He worked in the electrical field then
spent 15 years at Ethan Allen. He then moved to Florida to resume his
electrical career and then returned to Boonville. Rodney was untied in
marriage on August 19, 1979 with Patricia Wawrzyniak. They later
divorced but remained friends. He was united in a second marriage to
Donna Marmon on June 28, 2018.
Rodney enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to concerts, all music (heavy
metal), woodworking, demolition derbies, NASCAR, football, riding all
terrain vehicles and snowmobiling. Rodney’s greatest love of all is
the time he spent with his loved ones regardless of the time of day.
He is survived by his former wife Patricia and wife Donna; children,
Jill (Bob) O’Connor, Brantingham, James (Jessica) Bourgeois, Ava,
Vincent (Heather) Bourgeois, Delaware, Tricia (Zig) Mazur,
Constableville; step son, David (Amanda) Marmon, West Leyden, and
Patricia’s son, Michael Lesperance, whom he loved like a son. He is
also survived by 17 grandchildren, Ty (Kelsie), Trey, Dawn, Andrew,
Steven, Zadok, Cami, Hunter, Jayden, Aubrey, Emmalee, Izaak,
Christopher, Lizzy, James Jr. , Alexi and Mason; great grandchildren,
Paylynn, Eloria and one on the way; sisters, Nancy Malchowski and Joyce
(Ron) Egnaczyk; many nieces and nephews and his dog, Bella. He was
predeceased by his parents and a brother William (Bill) Bourgeois.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021 at
Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville. Calling hours at the
funeral home will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until the time of
the service on Saturday. Donations may be made to SPCA or to Boonville
