Boonville – Sandra M. Ritter, 75, of Main St., wife of Gary B., passed away suddenly at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville on Saturday, March 5, 2022.  


Sandra was born on June 18, 1946 in Schenectady, NY a daughter of Daniel and Felicia Bavaro Lombardo.  She grew up in Burnt Hills, NY, where she received her education, graduating from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School with the Class of 1964.  Sandra then received her LPN

from Bennington College and completed her education at MVCC, Utica, where she received her Associates Degree in Social Work.


Sandra was united in marriage with Gary B. Ritter on June 12, 1986, and has since lived in the Forestport and Boonville area.  For 15 years Sandra was employed with the Oneida County Dept. of Social Services as a social worker.  


Sandra is survived by her husband Gary, son James W. (April) Roberts, Troy, NY, daughter Elaine Roberts-Ballard (Glenn), Savannah, GA, daughter Jennifer Roberts-Schmidt (Paul), Layton, UT, son Harold J. Roberts, Jr., Forestport, daughter-in-law Catherine Roberts, Boonville, step-daughter Aimee Anne Ritter, Forestport, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters:  Karen (Michael) Bernstein, Diane (Steven) Thorne, nieces, nephews cousins.


Calling Hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.  Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery, Forestport at a later date.  Sandra loved her many pets and cherished all animals, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St. Utica, NY 13502.  For an online message of sympathy, please go to
