Decorate your ornament with provided glazes; pieces are taken home to be re-fired and picked up at the library in a couple of weeks. Families can drop in at the Lyons Falls Library Community Room August 18 through 29 during library hours for free play with the Farm and Market Play Set on loan from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis County. The room features a play kitchen with refrigerator, stove, sink, and utensils, plus tables, stools, and bins of play food for a farm-to-table play feast. Drop in anytime the room is available.

The Toe Path Trekkers host the 34th annual Woodsmen's 10K foot race, 5K walk, and kids fun run on Friday, August 21 at Adirondack High School in Boonville. The 10K starts at 6:00 PM, followed by the walk, with a free kids fun run on the track during both. Packet pickup and registration run from 4:00 to 5:45 PM at the front of the high school. Lewis County Public Health will be hosting its next Rabies Clinics for cats, dogs and ferrets on Wednesday, September 16 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lewis County Fairgrounds in Lowville, NY. A $15 donation per-pet is suggested to help cover staffing and vaccine costs. Please have all dogs leashed up and have all cats/ferrets in a proper carrier.
