ONEIDA & OSWEGO COUNTIES- Several ice fishing anglers received tickets from a joint DEC enforcement detail on Oneida Lake, including portions in Oneida and Oswego Counties.
The compliance check occurred on February 8, where Environmental Conservation Officers from Regions Six and Seven teamed up and conducted checks on multiple ice anglers.
Specifically, officers checked for fishing licenses, catch size and limits, and compliance with New York State recreational vehicle laws.

ECO’s issued 32 tickets and 4 written warnings for fishing without a license, catching undersized walleye, unregistered and uninsured snowmobiles, unregistered All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), and failure to wear approved helmets.
