BOONVILLE- Earlier this spring, Woodsmen's Field Days event coordinator and spokesperson Phyllis White told us she expected a down year for vendor turnout at the 75th anniversary edition this summer.

Based on a two-year hiatus from COVID, White had heard numerous reports from vendors about low inventory and high uncertainty for some even staying afloat.

However, Phyllis' original prediction has taken an unexpected, but welcomed turn.

Once this past July came around, vendor and display registration went from famine to feast and committee members gridding out the Boonville-Oneida County Fairgrounds have been hard-pressed to find space lately.

According to White, it's safe to say now that this year's show is basically sold out.

"We're back! We're going to knock it out of the park," White proclaimed with excitement.

"We are going to hear the sweet sound of chainsaws humming, see the sawdust flying and the smell of the air is going to be awesome this weekend."

Even though the show itself is nearly sold-out, there are still plenty of pre-sale admission passes up for grabs, which will include significant savings for families, Veterans, seniors and children alike. You can call the Woodsmen's Office and secure your pre-sale admission passes at 315-942-4593.

For those who do not take advantage of pre-sale passes, admission to the grounds the day of or the weekend will cost a bit more.

The traditional greased pole climb, tug-of-war and beards contest are all returning Friday evening, August 19. More details can be obtained online by visiting Woodsmen's Field Days website

While visiting the website, running enthusiasts will find all the information needed for the 10K foot race, which will also take place Friday evening at the Adirondack High School.

The 75th annual New York State Woodsmen's Field Days is aimed for Friday-Sunday, August 19-21 at the Boonville-Oneida County Fairgrounds.

Here's our latest on-air update from Phyllis White - be sure to listen for the latest scoop:
