
The national average price for a gallon of U.S. gasoline rang-in just over $3.30 Wednesday morning.
According to the AAA, the overall average price for fuel has declined from when it was $3.47 a month ago. During this time last-year, average prices hovered just over $3.80.
Here in New York, drivers are paying an average of $3.46 as of this report. That’s compared to a $3.58 average a month ago.
“And the arrival of September means cheaper winter-blend gasoline is almost here, which always helps take pressure off pump prices,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson.
Locally, drivers have been filling up for as low as $3.59 in Lowville, NY and $3.65 in Boonville, NY as of this report, according to the latest numbers from GasBuddy.
For comparison, there are some pumps in the city of Watertown, NY selling gas for as low as $3.17 (cash price), while most other establishments are offering prices from $3.25 and up.
In the city of Syracuse, NY, some gas pumps are offering cash prices as low as $2.99, while most others range from $3.49 and up, according to GasBuddy.
Finally, GasBuddy reports similar price ranges in the cities of Rome and Utica, NY, where most establishments are selling gas for $3.49 and up.
