After several weeks of inching downward from staggering heights, gas prices have started climbing again.
The AAA says the price for a barrel of oil has crept above $90 for the first time in weeks. “High West Coast prices have played a major role in the recent climb in the national average for gas. Reversing this trend may help take some pressure off of pump prices,” said AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross.

The national average has gone back up to $3.91, 19-cents higher than last month and 65-cents higher than a year-ago.
In New York, the state average gas price was $3.64 as of this report, up about 5-cents from last-week; but down from last month’s average of $3.89. Last year at this time, New Yorkers were paying an average of $3.35 for a gallon of gas.
