The national average gas price Tuesday morning was $3.60, the same as it was a-year-ago now, says the AAA.

A month ago now, the national average was just shy of $3.40. “Renewed Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure and increasing tension in the Middle East spiked oil prices recently,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson.

“And with the cost of oil accounting for roughly 60% of what we pay at the pump, there will likely be some upward pressure on prices.”

In New York, the state average remains below the national average as of Tuesday morning, ringing in at $3.46.

Compared to a year ago, New Yorkers were paying more at the pumps with an average just below $3.55. A month ago, New York’s average price was $3.34.

As of this publication locally, gas prices in Lowville, NY ranged as low as $3.45 and $3.53 in Boonville, NY, according to GasBuddy.

For a time, pump prices in the Watertown, NY area ranged significantly cheaper, however; GasBuddy is reporting more and more establishments raising their prices in the $3.40 range, with some even nudging north of $3.50.

Still, some select locations in that region are offering gas for as low as $3.35.

In Syracuse, NY, most gas pumps appear to be offering prices in the $3.30 range, with some north of $3.50 and even one establishment offering gas for $3.09, according to GasBuddy.

Finally in the Mohawk Valley region, GasBuddy found fuel prices as of this report ranging in the $3.50 ballpark in Rome, NY, with one pump establishment selling gas for $2.56.

In Utica, NY, gas prices showed similar trends in the $3.50 range.
