WEBB- A group of boaters were rescued from rough waters over the weekend in the Western Adirondacks.
It was shortly before noontime on Sunday when emergency dispatch received calls for help from a group of four boaters on Stillwater Reservoir, town of Webb, Herkimer County.
The New York State DEC reports that the boaters were in need of assistance amidst strong winds and rough water caused the boats to fill with water and nearly capsize.
New York State Forest Ranger Lee took the call, but in the meantime, a nearby good Samaritan came to help by bringing two of the victims to shore.
Meanwhile, the remaining pair stayed with their boat and the good Samaritan's boat until Ranger Lee arrived with his boat to assist.
According to the DEC, the Ranger boat and the good Samaritan's boat were used as shields to help guide the remaining pair of boaters to shore.
Furthermore, Ranger Lee retrieved the group’s lost gear and returned it to them at the boat launch.
No injuries were reported.
