The Oneida County Sheriff’s office says they are still waiting for lab results in the case of a Rome baby, who died after being left in a vehicle.
The baby's father is a Rome City Police officer. Once the lab analysis is completed, Sheriff’s investigators will meet with the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s office and the Oneida County District Attorney to determine the next steps in the investigation. According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, “The amount of time to complete the laboratory analysis is consistent with other death investigations.” The baby’s father, remains on paid administrative leave from the Rome City Police department. The baby's name was Michael Fanfarillo.
