Snowmobile Accident

WEST TURIN- A man from out of state was taken to a local hospital Tuesday evening after wrecking his snowmobile into a tree in Lewis County, authorities say.

It happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Trail C4C, near Michigan Mills Road in the town of West Turin, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies are reporting that Charles P. Hutchinson, 57, of Basking Bridge, NJ was operating his sled and encountered a patch of ice. After speaking with Hutchinson and his riding party, deputies concluded that the ice caused the sled to veer off the trail and into a tree.

Members from Constableville Ambulance treated Hutchinson on-scene before transporting him to Lowville Hospital for additional evaluation.

There were no additional details available from police.
