
LEWIS COUNTY- North Country authorities have announced the arrest of a local man, who is faced with drug related accusations.
David A. Baxter, 55, of Castorland, NY was arrested Thursday by members of Lewis County Drug Task Force on a county court sealed indictment warrant.
He is officially charged with three counts each of criminally possessing and criminally selling a controlled substance in the fifth-degree.
Additionally, Baxter was charged with resisting arrest after allegedly slamming the door in the face of officers when they informed him of the arrest warrant.
Police officials say this arrest is the result of a meth investigation.
Baxter was taken to the Lewis County Jail, where he will await further proceedings on the sealed indictment warrant.
Members of the Sheriff's Office and the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team assisted.
