DWI charges filed against local resident following traffic stop in the Kuyahoora Valley area

NORWAY- A resident from the Kuyahoora Valley area is accused of intoxicated driving, authorities say.

Carrie M. Fitzsimons, 44, of Newport, NY was arrested early Monday by the New York State Police (Herkimer). Fitzsimons is formally charged with one count each of DWI (first offense) and operating a motor vehicle (w/a .08 of 1% or greater BAC).

According to Troopers, the arrest was made shortly after 2:15 a.m. in the town of Norway, Herkimer County.

At press time, police said that Fitzsimons was issued with an appearance ticket.
