Felony charges filed against suspect amidst identity theft, fraud case in Forestport: NYSP

FORESTPORT- A Mohawk Valley area resident is faced with felony charges from an identity theft investigation in Northern Oneida County.

On Tuesday afternoon, the New York State Police (Remsen) arrested and charged Rochelle C. Santiago, 45, of Utica, NY with one felony count each of grand larceny in the third-degree and possessing a forged instrument in the second-degree.

According to Troopers, these charges stem from a fraud complaint in the town of Forestport, which was filed on May 28, 2024.

At press time, police said an investigation was still pending.

Meanwhile, Santiago was released and there were no further details provided.
