Felony DWI, unlicensed operation charges filed against Herkimer County resident, Troopers say

HERKIMER- A local resident is faced with felony DWI charges in Herkimer County.

On Tuesday afternoon, the New York State Police (Herkimer) arrested and charged James L. Murphy, 53, of Newport, NY with one felony count each of DWI (previous conviction within ten-years) and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first-degree.

According to Troopers, these charges were filed in the town of Herkimer.

At press time, Murphy’s arrest status suggested an appearance for centralized arraignment.

There were no further details provided.
