Fire Destroys Barn in the Town of Lee

LEE CENTER-A barn in Lee Center was destroyed in a fire Monday evening. The incident was reported shortly before 6 p.m., concerning a barn fire at an Amish farm located on Belcher Road. Fire departments from Lee Center, West Leyden, Westernville and Taberg all responded, with over 75 firefighters present at one point. The fire chief explained that the blaze originated from embers in the burn pit outside the barn, which ignited the sawmill inside. The barn suffered extensive damage, resulting in a total loss.
