FOR NORTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY AND THE ADIRONDACKS:...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO

6 PM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...In New York, Northern Herkimer, Hamilton, Northern
  Warren, Washington, Rensselaer, and Columbia Counties. In
  Vermont, Bennington County.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southeast winds are expected this
  evening into Friday morning, shifting to the west southwest
  behind a cold front Friday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
