Fraud charges filed in Lewis County against New York City area resident

WATSON- A New York City area resident is accused of fraud related charges here in Lewis County.

On Tuesday morning, the New York State Police (Lowville) arrested and charged Shemar Jamal Douglas, 24, of the Bronx, NY with one misdemeanor count each of forgery in the third-degree; falsifying business records and insurance fraud in the fifth-degree.

According to Troopers, these charges were all filed in the town of Watson, stemming from a previously reported case back in early April.

At press time, police said that Douglas was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
