INLET- A pilot and two passengers were not injured after a helicopter crashed Wednesday afternoon in the Western Adirondacks.

The Town of Inlet Police Department and several other emergency responders were all dispatched by Herkimer County 9-1-1.

According to the latest updates from WKTV, the small helicopter was approaching the area to land and all of a sudden lost power.

The pilot managed to land on a local lake, ending up approximately 30-feet from shore.

Despite how the helicopter rolled onto its side, the pilot and two passengers were not injured.

It’s reported that the New York State DEC immediately established a containment boom to help prevent any further oil leakage.

Investigators are looking into what exactly caused the crash.
