Inlet FD Brush Fire September 2025

INLET- Emergency responders in the Western Adirondacks were on the scene of a brush fire over the weekend.

It was shortly after noontime on Sunday when firefighters from Inlet were called out to a brush fire on Limekiln Lake.

The fire sparked on one of the islands and emergency responders had to access the scene by boat. Fortunately, they were able to knock the fire down and get it contained quickly to prevent further spreading.

The Hose Company was assisted on scene by Inlet Volunteer Ambulance Squad, Inlet Police Department and the New York State DEC.

Though a cause was not specified at press time, local authorities warn that it remains very dry throughout the North Country and beyond and there is a risk of sparking wild brush fires as fall is officially underway.
