Lewis County Public Transportation

LOWVILLE- If your wallet needs a break from the gas pump, Lewis County Public Transportation just might have the ticket you're looking for.

It's known as 'Commute with Enterprise & Lewis County Public Transportation,' a new program launched earlier this summer with aims to reduce the cost of driving by pairing together co-workers who live near one-another.

"Enterprise connects employees who live near each other and provides them with a recent-model van or SUV," Public Transportation Spokesperson Samantha Brown said.

"Riders commute together, saving money and freeing up time to relax or catch up on work. It’s an easy way to start and end the day in a better mindset."

Benefits of this new program include:

  • Receive at least 50% of the total cost of the vanpool per vehicle per month through Lewis County Public Transportation
  • Available for workers and/or residents in the county
  • Maintenance, insurance, roadside assistance and a guaranteed ride home are included
  • Less wear and tear on your personal vehicle
  • Month-to-month flexibility
  • Driver of vehicle can receive 200 or more personal miles each month
