LOWVILLE- Authorities in Lewis County have announced the latest welfare fraud arrests.
According to investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Angela M. Yousey, 40, of Boonville, NY was charged on Tuesday with two counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first-degree, along with one count each of welfare fraud in the third-degree and grand larceny in the third-degree (property value > $3,000).
Meanwhile, Sheriff’s Investigators also charged Erika M. Gross, 37, of Rodman, NY on Friday with one count each of welfare fraud in the fourth-degree and grand larceny in the fourth-degree (property value > $1,000).
Both cases stem from complaints received via Lewis County Department of Social Services.
Yousey was arraigned in New Bremen Town Court prior to being released on her own recognizance.
Meanwhile, Gross was processed and released with appearance tickets, which are returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
