LOWVILLE- An inmate at the Lewis County Jail is accused of using a third party person to make contact with a protected individual.
Shaun K. Elliott, 39, is officially charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal contempt in the second-degree, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On February 19, deputies received a complaint suggesting that Elliott used a third party to send a letter, from the county jail, to a person, who is protected under a court order.
In addition, it is alleged that Elliott used the same third party, in making another attempt to contact the protected person, by making a phone call.
Following processing at the Public Safety Building, Elliott was issued with appearance tickets before being returned to county corrections staff.
Both charges are returnable to Croghan Town Court at a later date.
