Lewis County man charged for allegedly violating protection order: NYSP

PITCAIRN- A Lewis County man is accused of violating a protection order in the North Country, authorities say.

William E. Devereaux, 34, of Harrisville, NY was arrested Sunday afternoon by the New York State Police (Star Lake). He is officially charged with one misdemeanor count of criminal contempt in the second-degree (disobeying court order).

Troopers say the arrest stems from complaints filed in the town of Pitcairn.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending. Devereaux’s arrest status was not reported.
