Lewis County resident arrested and charged for alleged strangulation, criminal contempt

HARRISBURG- A local resident is accused of felony and misdemeanor offenses stemming from reports of a domestic dispute this week in Lewis County, authorities say.

William E. Therrien, 36, of Copenhagen, NY was arrested Thursday evening by the New York State Police (Lowville). Therrien is formally charged with one felony count of strangulation in the second-degree (causing physical injury) and criminal mischief in the fourth-degree (preventing emergency call).

According to Troopers, these charges stem from an alleged domestic incident Thursday morning in the town of Harrisburg.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending and there was no arrest status listed for Therrien.
