Lewis County resident charged for possessing smoking devices that contained meth while on probation

DENMARK- A local resident is faced with charges filed in the wake of a probation check in Lewis County, authorities say.

Gwendolyn P. Holton, 33, of Castorland, NY was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on January 24. Holton is formally charged with criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

Sheriff’s Deputies say that the arrest stems from a routine probation check in the town of Denmark. Specifically, it’s reported that probation officers found smoking devices that allegedly contained meth.

At press time, police said that Holton was issued with an appearance ticket.

There were no further details provided.
