LOWVILLE- 2022 marks 21-years since the 9/11 attacks against our country and Lewis County is stepping up to honor those lost by hosting their second annual Memorial Stair Climb.
It will be held Saturday, September 17 at Lowville Academy.
The purpose, according to event organizer and Lowville Fire Department Vice President, Benjamin Lyndaker, is to honor the courage and sacrifice made by the countless police, fire and ems responders who ran into danger that horrific day while everyone else was running out.
There have been similar events in Utica the past several years, serving the same purpose.
Local emergency responders and citizens of the community are encouraged to climb all 110 flights of stairs, which represents all floors of the Twin Towers.
Members of the public can climb as much or as little as they want.
Stay tuned, Benjamin Lyndaker will soon join our North Country News with an on-air report.
