Local man arrested, charged for alleged inappropriate contact with underage female child

ONEIDA COUNTY- A local man is accused of having inappropriate contact with an underage female child in Oneida County.

On Friday, Keith Westcott Sr., 65, of Lee, NY was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office after being indicted the day before by a county grand jury for felony criminal sex act in the third-degree, along with two misdemeanor counts of forcible touching and one misdemeanor count of attempted rape in the third-degree.

After investigating claims received via the Child Advocacy Center, authorities have determined that Westcott Sr. allegedly subjected a female child to numerous acts of lewd and inappropriate sexual behavior.

Specifically, investigators say the Criminal Sexual Act and the Attempted Rape are alleged to have occurred when the child was less than 17-years-old.

Furthermore, the Forcible Touching is alleged to have occurred when the child was 17-years-old, police said.

Westcott Sr. was arraigned on the charges and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond or $60,000 Security Bond.

Services have been offered to the victim by the Child Advocacy Center and an Order of Protection has been issued on behalf of the child.
