Local resident in Oneida County accused of stealing property from apartment while tenant was out of town

CLINTON- Police say a local resident is accused of stealing property from someone’s apartment while they were out of town.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a complaint on July 16 at an apartment on College Street.

The male complainant told police that someone had entered his apartment and stole property while he was away.

Over the next couple of weeks, investigators gathered evidence and arrested Sara M. Cloe, 34, of Barneveld, NY on Monday. Cloe is formally charged with one felony count of burglary in the second-degree and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

Investigators said that Cloe allegedly entered the male victim’s apartment on July 15, without his knowledge or permission, and proceeded to steal things that did not belong to her.

At press time, Cloe was processed and taken to the county correctional facility for CAP arraignment.
