TURIN- A student from South Lewis Central School is among 30 high school students statewide nominated for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Of these selected students, 5 have been specifically nominated for the Excellence in Career and Technical Education Program (CTE).
Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R-NY-117) says he was proud to sponsor Jaden Morczek for this prestigious recognition - one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students, celebrating academic excellence and the potential for future achievement.
“It is my extreme honor that my CTE candidate has been selected as one of only five students,” the Assemblyman said. “Jaden exemplifies excellence in and out of the classroom. Congratulations to Jaden, his family, and the South Lewis Central School community.”
The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
In 1979, the Program was extended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative, and performing arts.
In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields.
