Local woman charged following latest underage drinking crackdown in Lewis County

WEST LEYDEN- A local woman is accused of selling an alcoholic beverage to someone under the age of 21, authorities say.

Over the weekend, investigators via the New York State Police conducted their latest underage drinking initiative throughout Lewis County. Out of over a dozen stores checked, one was found not to be in compliance – the Hill Top Market, 1187 State Route 26, West Leyden, NY.

Stephanie N. Redmond, 29, of Lyons Falls, NY was subsequently charged with prohibitive sale of alcohol to a person under 21-years-old and unlawfully dealing with a child in the first-degree.

Redmond was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lewis Town Court at a later date.

These following locations were also checked during the initiative and were found to be in compliance:

  • Fastrac – 5610 Shady Ave., Lowville NY 13367
  • Lyons Falls Liquors—6085 McAlpine St., Lyons Falls NY 13368
  • Kinney Drugs—7395 Utica Blvd., Lowville NY 13367
