Lock your vehicles and remove any valuable items from plain sight: State Police seeking information amidst localized spree of larcenies throughout Southern Lewis County

LEWIS COUNTY- Members of the public are being reminded to remove their keys and any valuables from their vehicles amidst another local spree of thefts.

Particularly, numerous complaints have been circulating on social media in regards to several larcenies throughout the Port Leyden, NY area.

We noticed remarks that included similar incidents in Lyons Falls, NY and Boonville, NY as well.

We have reached out to the New York State Police regarding this matter, as officials from the Public Information Office in Albany, NY say they will follow up when they have more details to release.

In the meantime, any residents with information (including security footage) are asked to contact the New York State Police in Lowville, NY: 315-376-0126.
