Lowville FD Truck Crach House October 2024

LOWVILLE- Emergency responders rescued the driver of a pick-up truck that crashed into the side of a house Monday morning.

As of this report, an exact address was not available, but Lowville Fire Chief, Joe Austin, says his department was the primary crew on the scene of a pick-up truck that crashed into the side of a house.

Initial reports from dispatch suggested that the driver was trapped and the truck may have been on fire. Fortunately when emergency responders arrived, it was confirmed that the vehicle was not on fire.

Emergency members worked with EMS to extricate the victim from the vehicle. The victim was rescued within 10 minutes of being on scene.

After victim was removed from vehicle, fire units worked with home owner to determine the stability of the house itself before the truck could be removed.

Fire units worked with the owners to get personal items that were needed and move some things before the truck was removed.

"Thankfully the truck was removed without any further damage to the house," Chief Austin said. "Unfortunately due to the damage, the house is currently unlivable."

There were no reports of specific injuries as of this publication.

We will share anything new that develops.
