LOWVILLE- The Lowville Fire Department is pleased to announce a near future emergence of a junior firefighter program.
The announcement is according to a social media post by Chief Joe Austin. The program is aimed for 16 and 17-year-olds, with goals for them to learn about the fire department and participate as much as possible.
“This will be a program to will prepare you to become a full fledge member of our department or another Fire Department at the age of 18 so you can continue to serve your communities (even if you decide to leave the area for college or work),” Chief Austin said.

The fire department will be holding a public question and answer night at the fire hall on August 26, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
