Lowville Mayor Joe Beagle resigns; Dan Salmon appointed to fill term through March, 2026

LOWVILLE- The Mayor has resigned. Numerous reports that have surfaced within the last several hours suggest that Joseph Beagle did not explain a reason for his resignation.

In response, the board of trustees appointed Dan Salmon to fulfil the rest of the term through March, 2026.

Mr. Beagle has had a significant involvement in local government. He became a Village Trustee in 2011 and officially became the Mayor in 2019.

For the time being, the village of Lowville is seeking letters of intent from village residents to fill a vacant trustee seat.
