HERKIMER COUNTY- A man from the Southern Tier is accused of endangering the welfare of a child, following reports of a domestic dispute last month in the Western Adirondacks.

William M. Nemier, 44, of Horseheads, NY was arrested on August 25 by the Town of Webb Police Department and officially charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Chief of Police Ron Johnston, the arrest stems from an alleged domestic dispute at a local motel in the Town of Webb.

It’s reported by police that Nemier returned to the motel while heavily intoxicated. Police learned after directing several vulgar insults towards his daughter, Nemier allegedly threw a cup at a window, causing it to shatter within close proximity to her.

He was taken into custody, while a relative worked out custody arrangements with the child.

Nemier was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Webb Town Court at a later date.
