Man faced with string of felony sex offense charges for having alleged inappropriate contact with female child in town of Lee

LEE- A man from Oneida County is faced with a string of felony accusations for having inappropriate contact with an underage female.

Shawn Westcott, 36, of Lee, NY was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office in the wake of a county grand jury indictment. He is officially charged with A-II felony predatory sexual assault against a child, along with felony counts of criminal sex act in the first-degree and sex abuse in the first-degree.

All charges stem from a police investigation, which began in January, 2021 after the Child Advocacy Center was notified that a female under the age of 13 had been subjected to sexual contact by Westcott.

The incidents reportedly occurred during the year 2019 in the town of Lee.

Westcott was jailed on $40,000 bail.

The court has issued an order of protection on behalf of the child and services have been offered via the Child Advocacy Center.
