DENMARK- A North Country man is faced with numerous felony fraud charges for allegedly stealing someone else’s information and using it to purchase a trailer in August, investigators say.

Daniel Pisani, 29, of Evans Mills, NY was arrested Wednesday by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

He is officially charged with two felony counts each of criminally possessing a forged instrument in the second-degree; offering a false instrument for filing in the first-degree and falsifying business records in the first-degree.

Furthermore, Pisani was also charged with one felony count each of identity theft in the first and second-degrees.

Police say he used someone else’s personal information to create accounts with a pair of credit card companies. Pisani reportedly used a credit card to buy a trailer from a local establishment, then fraudulently registered it at the DMV office in Lowville, NY.

He was processed at the Public Safety Building and following his arraignment, Pisani was released on his own recognizance.

The State DMV Office assisted with this investigation.
